Our next event: A picnic for a Cause 9th of December at the the End Jonkershoek
We are inviting friends, supporters and everyone interested to come for a beautiful picnic at The End Jonkershoek. We will organize picnic baskets for 2 or 4 people that you can order upfront. We will also do a book sale and a raffle (with very nice prices). All profits will go directly to support our projects to reduce substance abuse among youth in disadvantaged areas in the Western Cape, to help youth deal with trauma, abuse, neglect, loneliness and/or psycho-social problems, and our learning support programs.

SUPPORT our programmes:
Due to the success of our approach over the last seven years, and an increasing amount of schools now requesting our services, we realise that we not only need extra support for our current programmes, but that we need to increase our capacity in order to be able to assist other schools in the same manner. Help us offer screening, a 12 week structured treatment programme, drug tests, food (if they have to stay behind after school) and learning support!
We also run different projects to support and develop the low income communities outside Stellenbosch and Somerset West. You can choose to support one project specifically.
We are a registered section 21 company with tax exemption (under section 18a as well as under section 30).

Lene Kristin Vastveit is currently raising money to our Learning Support programme and the next thing we would like to offer the youth at the schools we service: Career Guidance workshops.

The percentage of teenagers who fail or drop out of high school is sadly very high in low income areas in South Africa, and without any education or training, the opportunities for employment are very few. This is something we would like to do something about and why we include many hours of tutoring to all the youth in our programmes! Our learning support programme is also looking for volunteers if you have some time to tutor with us!
